Campus Pastor - East Campus
Ken Bohney joined the Salem team in September of 2016 as the Campus Pastor for Salem East in Moorhead, MN with a passion and desire to help build a welcoming and authentic Christ loving community. Prior to arriving in Minnesota, Ken led the Adult and Life Groups ministries and served on the teaching team at Capital Church in Salt Lake City.
In terms of Christianity, Ken was a late bloomer, having come to faith in Christ at Bible Church in Steamboat Springs at the age of thirty. He refers to himself as “a spiritual mutt” with a variety of denominational experiences in his lifetime. Since then he earned a Masters in Ministry Leadership and a Masters in Divinity from Rockbridge Seminary. He also has a Bachelors of Administration from Loyola Marymount University.
Before going into full-time ministry, Ken’s career background is greatly varied, working in the fields of carpentry, pizza delivery, real estate, ski area lift operations, trail cutting, beer sales, waste recovery sales management, internet marketing and perhaps his favorite job of all, shuttle van driver for a river tubing business.
Even though he is a Southern California native who grew up near the beach, Ken did live a decade in the mountains of Colorado, where he met his South Dakotan wife Vicki. They were married in 2000 and have been blessed with three wonderful children. Ken is a people person who loves all kinds of sports, especially when done with friends or family…golfing, racquetball, fishing, snow skiing, biking and water skiing. He also loves to watch and cheer at his family’s many activities: MSUM Women’s Basketball (his wife coaches), Moorhead Orchestra Concerts (his daughter plays viola), Moorhead Spud hockey games (both boys play) and baseball games (his youngest plays).
