Transplanted to California from Pittsburgh as a teenager, John spent the first 16 years of his career in the Utility Industry before answering a call to ministry. Blessed to have been a member of the same church for 22 years, with the last 9 years serving as the  Administrative/Executive Pastor,  John has helped lead through many seasons of growth. From his time as a volunteer while still at a small, mobile church, to providing oversight for the construction of two facilities on an 8 acre campus, helping others come to know who they are in Christ has always been his motivation. 

Serving now at Salem as the Operations Manager since 2012, John has enjoyed navigating through the challenges of helping the church embrace a “small church to large church” mindset.  Oversight for Financials, Human Resources, Information Technologies, and Facility Management provides plenty of opportunity to be a part of the Salem team! 

Outside of life at Salem, family life keeps John busy with his wife Joy and 6 children ranging from elementary age to college age.  Both John and Joy enjoy spending time together with friends and family. As the adult children begin to leave home, spending time together as a couple has taken on a new level of enjoyment.

When left on his own, John often finds himself taking long bike rides, trying to catch fish, or taking the occasional trip to Dairy Queen with friends. John continues to learn to appreciate the sunny days and warm weather of summer before the frigid onslaught of winter!
