At Salem we want to provide a place for children of all ages to experience what following Jesus means. Our staff and volunteers spend time with the children, having fun and teaching them from God’s Word. Our desire is to help them see what it means to place their personal faith in Christ, and then become a life-long disciple of His.

We are implementing a variety of CoViD precautions to keep our children and volunteers as safe as possible. If you have specific questions, please contact our Director, Sarah Beck at Sarah.Beck@Salemefc.org.
Children’s Ministry at Salem comes alongside parents to help raise their children in the love and ways of the Lord so that their children may come to know the Lord in a real and personal way, becoming life-long disciples of Jesus.
What We Teach
Children learn as much from what they see as what they hear. As our teachers teach in age-appropriate Jesus-centered Bible-based ways, their lives also bear witness to that truth so that the children get to know God in real and personal ways through them.
Nursery (Birth - 23 months)
Our nursery (0-23 months) is staffed with faithful followers of Jesus who have passed a background screening, and who enjoy working with nursery-aged children.
Nursery is open during both services on Sunday morning.
Children (Age 2 - 6th Grade)
We actively engage with children from ages 2 through 6th grade with Sunday morning and Wednesday evening programming. Come and join us!
We are excited to provide Bible-based Jesus-centered teaching for your child on Sunday mornings between Labor Day and Memorial Day. For children 2 years old through Kindergarten, we provide engaging Sunday school classes that seek to teach children the Gospel and their place in God's plan of redemption.
Sunday School is available during both services on Sunday morning.
Wednesday Evening Children's Programs
6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Our kids join together from October through April, for Wednesday evening children’s programming for children age 3 (on or before August 1st of the current school year) through 6th grade.
This is a 2-year program for children who are one or two years away from starting Kindergarten. The evening is filled with verse memorization, songs, stories, and book time. Children must be at least 3 years-old on or before August 1st of the current school year.
This program is for Kindergarten through 4th grade children. Each evening consists of a large group time, small group time, and gym games. In large group, kids will move through a different Bible-based series specifically written for elementary students of all ages. During their grade-specific small group time, they will dive in a little deeper as they figure out how these Biblical truths look in their own lives. There are weekly verses kids can memorize to earn points towards prizes!
This program is for 5th & 6th grade students. Evenings consist of hang out time in the gym, large group time, and small group time. The different series of topics presented in large group are specifically geared towards preteen students, and the small group time gives them more opportunities to ask questions. Students are encouraged to memorize the weekly verse, and there are online devotion plans available with each series.
Parents have been entrusted with children by God. It is their responsibility to raise them to know, love and serve the Lord to the best of their ability. But parents are not alone in this. As a part of the Child Dedication, parents will invite friends and family who actively follow Christ to come beside them in raising their child. Parents will also receive helpful instruction and information on how Salem can partner with them. We have three Child Dedication Sundays a year and each one is preceded with a mandatory class and followed with a celebration lunch.
When a child has come to personal faith in Jesus and has given evidence of this faith and desires to make public confession of this faith, we will baptize him/her.
