10:30 AM // You'll Get Through This: Hope and Help for Your Turbulent Times (by max lucado)

You fear you won't make it through. We all do. We fear that the depression will never life, the yelling will never stop, the pain will never leave. In the pits, surrounded by steep walls and aching reminders, we wonder: Will this gray sky ever brighten? This load ever lighten? God doesn't promise that getting through trials will be quick or painless. It wasn't for Joseph-tossed in a pit by his brothers, sold into slavery, wrongfully imprisoned, forgotten and dismissed. With the compassion of a pastor, the heart of a storyteller, and the joy of the one who has seen what God can do, Lucado explores the story of Joseph and the truth of Genesis 50:20. What Satan intends for evil, God redeems for good. Whether you are in a dark season or walking along side someone who is, we hope this class offers a safe space for grief and hope to dwell together as we learn to struggle well with one another.

Full Semester Classes (Begin January 29)

9:00 AM // Merged Gospels

When it comes to our mission of disciplemaking, Jesus is our point of reference — plain and simple. If we want Jesus’ way of life to be our way of life, then wouldn’t it be wise to sit at his feet and learn from His disciplemaking genius? Join us as we trace the life of Jesus through a chronological harmony of the gospels. Discover the priorities and rhythms of Jesus and wrestle with what this means for us today where we live, work, and play.

Those going on the 2023 Israel trip are encouraged to take this class but it is open to everyone and we would love for others to join us!

9:00 AM // VERITAS WORKSHOP: What the church could be

Discerning and comprehending truth requires effort and at times can be difficult to navigate on your own. Our Veritas Workshop is an on-going class in which all of the participants join together in the diligent and rewarding work of identifying and understanding truth. Topics and studies vary throughout the year and the class is offered for both in-person and online. This is an ongoing class. Participants are free to join at any point.

The class is currently going through Misreading Scripture with Individualist Eyes by E. Randolph Richards and Richard James. Combining the expertise of a biblical scholar and a missionary practitioner, Misreading Scripture with Individualist Eyes is an essential guidebook to the cultural background of the Bible and how it should inform our reading. E. Randolph Richards and Richard James explore deep social structures of the ancient Mediterranean―kinship, patronage, and brokerage―along with their key social tools―honor, shame, and boundaries―that the biblical authors lived in and lie below the surface of each text. From Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar to Peter's instructions to elders, the authors strip away individualist assumptions and bring the world of the biblical writers to life.
