What does becoming a member mean?
Church membership is a commitment to unite with a body of believers who have joined together for specific Christ ordained purposes.
By joining Salem church, you are proclaiming your personal faith in Jesus Christ and identifying yourself with a local body of fellow believers with shared responsibilities, spiritual accountability, serving opportunities and mutual encouragement with one another and leadership.
A prerequisite for membership is attending our Membership Class, which we generally host several times a year, in the spring and fall.
The Membership Class last about two and a half hours and will help you become better acquainted with Salem’s people, programs and purpose and it's leadership. You will have time to ask questions and get to know some of our leaders and others taking the class.
You will receive a membership application form that you can return to the church office once completed. We will contact you to schedule an interview with a few elders. This is an informal time to get acquainted with one another, ask questions and share your story of coming to faith in Christ. Usually, the visit takes about 20 minutes.
