9:00 AM // Christian Beliefs

Do you ever wonder what beliefs are foundational to the Christian faith? You may be a new believer, or newly exploring the Christian faith, or perhaps you have been a believer for years. No matter where you are on your journey you are invited into a ten-week study exploring what Christians believe. In this group we will cover topics like, what is the Bible, what does it mean to be a Christian, how should I understand the trinity, what is atonement and sanctification, and many other foundational Christian beliefs. Our hope is that through our time together you will come away with a better understanding of core Christian beliefs, feel more equipped to explain your faith to others, and possess a deeper sense of the beauty of God.

Participants should expect to read 1 or 2 book chapters each week to prepare for the meeting. The chapters are short and very readable. This group will meet September 24 - December 10. (We will not meet on Thanksgiving weekend.)

9:00 AM // VERITAS WORKSHOP: The Screwtape Letters

Discerning and comprehending truth requires effort and at times can be difficult to navigate on your own. Our Veritas Workshop is an on-going group in which all of the participants join together in the diligent and rewarding work of identifying and understanding truth. Topics and studies vary throughout the year and the group is offered for both in-person and online. Participants are free to join at any point.

This semester we will be reading and discussing The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. "This book is a brilliant and satirical look at spiritual warfare and the dynamics of temptation. Screwtape, a senior demon in the bureaucracy of Hell, writes letters to his incompetent nephew Wormwood, a junior devil. The younger demon's assignment is to corrupt a young man living in London during the tumultuous days of World War II." (Description taken from The Screwtape Letters Study Guide: A Bible Study on the C.S. Lewis Book The Screwtape Letters by Alan Vermilye available here. This study guide will not be necessary to participate in the class.)

9:00 AM // A Lifelong Love: Discovering How Intimacy with God Breathes Passion into Your Marriage

Whether you are recently married looking to build a foundation that will last, or you’ve been married for years and looking for a complete makeover, a touch up, or just new purpose, we hope you’ll join us as we dig into how intimacy with God helps us go the distance in marriage and fighting for lifelong love. We know that God’s design for marriage is wonderful, but we also know that because of our brokenness, it can be incredibly hard. It’s easy to settle for too little and diminish our need to not only understand what biblical love really is, but also to become a people who excel at it. Join us as we discover how a closeness with God can breathe passion into our marriages and for wisdom on how to navigate power shifts and seasonal mine fields, learning to grow in love instead of disappointment. This is a RightNow Media video based study and will meet September 24 - November11/12.
