Winter/Spring Learning Groups

Study of Colossians  |  9:00 am, Room 16
Jan. 18 - Feb. 22
What does it mean to be a Christian? How should a follower of Jesus live? What or who shapes our answers to those questions today? We live in a world with many thoughts and ideas about “religion” and even Christianity. In Paul’s letter to the Colossians, he addresses two primary questions that were emerging in the young church and are still relevant today. As some were teaching the new Christians, does salvation require following certain rules, rituals or traditions in order to be saved? On the other hand does it then matter how Christians live? Are we called to be different than the norms of culture around us?
During our six week study of this powerful and practical 4 chapter book we will examine together what the Bible says in response to these and other questions. It will be a thought provoking, encouraging and challenging study for all. Participants will spend some time on their own each week studying the passage and then participating in a meaningful and vibrant discussion on Sunday.
