Safety & Incident Reporting

One of the most common biblical metaphors for the relationship between God’s people and their leaders is that of sheep with their shepherd. The metaphor is a rich one, encompassing a wide variety of behaviors, such as leading, feeding, and protecting. Shepherds have a responsibility to protect their sheep from those who would do them harm. In fact, Jesus said, ‘The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep’ (John 10:11). This is in contrast to the hired hand who flees, leaving the sheep to the wolves (v.12).

Those of us who are in leadership at Salem Church have a God-given responsibility to protect those who
are under our care. This would include services and ministries that take place on our campus, as well as
church-sponsored events that are off campus.

If anyone has questions about safety policies and procedures at Salem, please contact a ministry leader or Elder. If anyone feels an incident needs to be reported, please complete the form below and submit it to the church office, anyone on staff, an Elder, or someone on Salem's Safe Church Team.
